Safety Sunday With Ned Tibbits

This online community meetup series features thru-hiker and Mountain Education founder, Ned Tibbits. This meetup’s subject is: “Planning: Building in Safety from Idea to Formula.”

Each week, Ned will go over a specific subject regarding safety in the backcountry. Great for anyone taking on a long-distance hike in 2025!
Registration:
Register Here, or click the link under “Website” below. PLEASE NOTE: AS THIS IS A SERIES, YOU ONLY NEED TO REGISTER ONCE. After registering, you’ll have access to ALL of the meetings in the series after your registration date. On the Thursday before each meeting, an email with will be sent via THRU-r with an outline and video links (if you’d like to study up before!). A reminder email via Zoom will be sent out the day before each meeting.
Recordings:
All registrants will receive each meetup recording via the email they signed up with, coming from “THRU-r”. These recordings will be available for one week via the link in each email. So if you can’t make all the meetings, you’ll receive the recordings to watch later! Recordings will also be available for THRU-r Trail Family members (membership is free) in the Video Library – with no expiration date. You can apply for a Trail Family membership for free video access and more.
What To Expect:
New/Aspiring Hikers: Bring any questions you may have for the Q&A at the end of the meeting! We have a lot of information via video recordings from past meetups with Ned in our “Safety Series” on YouTube, and also via our Video Library in our Trail Family membership. Watch if you’d like even more information from Ned. Bonus points if you watch before the meetups!
